Benefiting from Kenny Miller's productive game, the Altoona Curve downed the Gateway Grizzlies, 5-3. Miller was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Curve. Marco Mantecon earned the save for Altoona, his 4th of the year. The loss drops Gateway to 8-11.

Pee Wee Azucena drove in one run for Altoona. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Zach Woods. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

Altoona manager Matt Hartford commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
