Blue Wahoos Popped by Travelers, 6-2
|
The Arkansas Travelers knocked off the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 6-2, in Southern League action at Dickey-Stephens Park. Arkansas pitcher and Crestline, Ohio, native Ronald Calandriello had an outstanding performance. Calandriello picked up the win for Arkansas, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-1. Arkansas has an impressive 63-31 record.
Alex Trudnak was 1-3 with a walk for Arkansas. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Johnny Noonan. It was his 10th hit of the season.
"Ronald pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Arkansas manager George French.
