Victors Again, Shreveport Win Streak at 8

The Shreveport Engineers defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 5-3, at Smokies Park. Shreveport was led by 27-year old catcher Bill Nguyen, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Zully Salazar picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-0. Lucas Lognion was credited with the save for Shreveport, his 7th of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Benjamin Wenster? The Shreveport designated hitter had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Engineers on top, 1-0. For the game, Wenster had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
