Blue Wahoos Come Up Short at Montgomery, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Montgomery Biscuits and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Montgomery won it, 2-1. Montgomery starter Grayson Tapia was in command. The winner was Tapia. He threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Hoot Davis. The 4th-place Biscuits are now 47-42, the Blue Wahoos 56-33.
The Biscuits got a big at-bat from shortstop Todd Goodfellow. For the game, Goodfellow went 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Montgomery a 2-0 lead.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Tapia.
