Tennessee Loses, 6-4, to Frisco in 11
|
Fans who congregated at Smokies Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Frisco RoughRiders had to overcome a big game from Tennessee right fielder Owen Stokes to leave Smokies Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4, in 11 innings. Stokes went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Frisco reliever Ares Dussault picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Miguel Rosado took the loss.
Frisco used the hitting of Emery Barbour to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the RoughRiders on top, 6-4. For the game, Barbour had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Barbour said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
The 6th-place Smokies now sit at 43-47.
