Missions Snatch Late Win
|
The San Antonio Missions had to overcome a big game from Montgomery center fielder Remington Brattoli to leave Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 5-4. Brattoli went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. San Antonio reliever Johnny Wirkus picked up the win, while Lucas Astacio took the loss for Montgomery. The 'W' lifts San Antonio's record to 35-57.
Jason Leonard, the 24-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Leonard contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put San Antonio up, 5-4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Leonard. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
