Drillers Knock Off Naturals at Hammons Field
|
Starting pitcher Benjamin Tillman was a major factor in the 6-1 Tulsa Drillers triumph over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The winner was Tillman. He threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Joseph Scott. With the win, Tulsa goes to 43-44, while the Naturals fall to 22-65.
Ramon Baez, who is tied for 10th in the SL in stolen bases with 12, took Northwest Arkansas hurler Joseph Scott deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Drillers on top, 2-0. In all, Baez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Tyler DiGiacomo. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
