Fisher Cats Come Back Late to Top Rumble Ponies, 7-6
Due in large part to left fielder Jim Almenas, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats sunk the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 7-6. Almenas was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. New Hampshire reliever Osvaldo Cornijo picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. José Marrero was tagged with the loss. Roger Lyons recorded the save, his 5th.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old center fielder Lindsey Mansur. Mansur had a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fisher Cats ahead, 7-6. For the game, Mansur had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Mansur told the New Hampshire Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The win gives New Hampshire a record of 10-7.
