Drillers Suffer 1-0 Home Defeat
|
Archie Krus, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 1-0 Tulsa Drillers defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Hammons Field. R.J. Ogden picked up the win, lifting his record to 6-8 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 2 in 6 innings, while yielding no runs. Armando Lefevre closed it out for Jacksonville, earning his 14th save.
Jacksonville used the hitting of Napoleon Scorza to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Jumbo Shrimp on top, 1-0. For the game, Scorza had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Scorza.
The Jumbo Shrimp move to 45-36 with the win, while the Drillers drop to 45-36.
