Blue Wahoos Collect 5-2 Win Versus Tennessee
|
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos picked up a win at Smokies Park, defeating the Tennessee Smokies, 5-2. Starting pitcher Gary Garcia was an essential part of his team's success. Garcia got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. P.J. Mason earned the save for Pensacola.
Pensacola used the timely hitting of Hedley Milliron to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Wahoos on top, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Milliron told the Pensacola Observer.
At 38-42, Pensacola is in 5th place in the Southern League Southeast Division.
