Scouts Handle Corpus Christi, Snag 8-0 Win
|
Not everyone stuck through the 55-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Chattanooga Scouts starter Henry Allan kept the Corpus Christi Hooks hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-0 win. The third-place Scouts have a record of 42-36.
Henry Good had a big 2-run double for the Scouts in the bottom of the second inning. With Chattanooga leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a cutter from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Gareth Kishikawa and swatted a double to center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Scouts ahead, 3-0.
"My gosh almighty, Henry was tremendous," said Chattanooga manager Fletcher Goolsby.
