Chattanooga Wins, Aguilera slugs 2 home runs
|
The Chattanooga Scouts topped the Montgomery Biscuits, 6-4, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Chattanooga left fielder Ian Aguilera was a spark plug for the offense. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was Chattanooga reliever Griffin Francis, now 2-1. The loser was Dan McCartney. Brandon Ledezma earned the save for Chattanooga, his 15th of the year.
Victor Valderas was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Chattanooga. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Paolo Gobbo. It was his 32nd RBI of the season.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Aguilera.
The Scouts improved to 32-43.
