Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Midland RockHounds and Rocket City Trash Pandas.

The Midland RockHounds picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, knocking off the Rocket City Trash Pandas, 6-4. Starting pitcher Luke Wheeler was a big reason why. Picking up the save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Pingo Rondan.

In the bottom of the sixth, Midland shortstop Ernest Vaughn had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Vaughn stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 5-1, Midland. For the game, he was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.

Midland manager Ruben Almendarez said his team played a "no nonsense" game.

The RockHounds are now 38-36, while the Trash Pandas fall to 22-52.
