Mortimore Lifts Shuckers to 12-4 Triumph
The Biloxi Shuckers cruised to a win over the Chattanooga Scouts, 12-4, at Biloxi Grounds. Roy Mortimore led the way, going 3-for-5 for Biloxi. The winning pitcher was Laffite Soria. He tossed 85 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. The defeat makes Chattanooga 39-31.

With Biloxi leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Mortimore hit a fastball from Alex Lockett for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Shuckers ahead, 5-0.

"It was a pretty good night," said Mortimore.
