The Shreveport Engineers dealt the Corpus Christi Hooks a 6-5 loss at Engineers Ballpark. Eugene Billingsley was the star on offense. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Andy Scott collected save number 8. The first-place Engineers now have a win-loss record of 52-20.

Billingsley had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-0 fastball from Roderick Lantto, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Engineers a 5-3 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Billingsley.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Billingsley. "And not try to do too much."
