Thrilling Victory Pushes Flying Squirrels Win Streak to 5
|
Armando Millan helped his team muscle past the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 6-5. In the game, the St. Petersburg designated hitter went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. St. Petersburg reliever Gerald Trevino picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Hunter Aris shouldered the loss. The 7th-place Blue Wahoos have dropped 6 straight games.
Ronaldo Valero was the walk-off hero for St. Petersburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flying Squirrels center fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Valero told reporters after the game.
