San Antonio Downs Tulsa, 6-1
|
The San Antonio Missions took Tulsa pitcher Teodor Estevez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hammons Field. The final score had San Antonio getting past the Drillers, 6-1. Estevez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 7. Their 22-47 record puts the Missions 8th in the Southern League Texas Division.
James Schulenburg drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for San Antonio. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Andy Jeter. It was his 9th RBI of the season.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Schulenburg.
