In Extras, Ravens Beat Grizzlies, 3-2
|
The New Haven Ravens did just enough to nip the Gateway Grizzlies, 3-2, in 13 innings. New Haven pitcher Kenny Musgrave, in particular, had a standout performance. The Grizzlies fall to 6-10 and continue their uneven start to the 2058 season.
The decisive blow was delivered by Don Gardiner in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Javy Fleming to win the game for New Haven. The home crowd went nuts.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Mark Ennis.
