Travelers Beat Flying Squirrels, 7-0
|
St. Petersburg had no answer for Arkansas Travelers starter Timmy Abrams, who flummoxed Flying Squirrels hitters as the Travelers cruised to victory, 7-0. The winning pitcher was Abrams, now 5-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. The 'W' lifts Arkansas's record to 39-24.
Milton Shadle, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Shadle contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning to put Arkansas up, 1-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Abrams said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
