The Corpus Christi Hooks weathered a fine game by Tennessee shortstop Rain Logan to upend the Smokies, 6-4, at Whataburger Field. Logan hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Thad Keenan was credited with the save for Corpus Christi, his 8th of the season. The last-place Smokies have lost 4 straight games.
Warren Barham helped out the Corpus Christi cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.
