Northwest Arkansas Rallies for 4-2 Win
|
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals faced a tough opponent in Rocket City pitcher Norm Apolo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hank Aaron Stadium by a final score of 4-2. Apolo went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up his 6th save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Brady Joiner. Northwest Arkansas currently is in last place in the Southern League Texas Division at 13-46.
In the top of the ninth, Northwest Arkansas got a clutch hit from Zander Thompson. The designated hitter belted a 3-run home run, putting the Naturals up, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a decisive one.
Thompson attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
