Kenny Hayenga did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Montgomery Biscuits from being beaten, 9-7, to the Mississippi Braves at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Hayenga went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Mississippi reliever Lester Johnson was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Emmanuel Waas took the loss for Montgomery. Derril Roberts finished to wrap up his 5th save.

Mississippi won the game in part because of Isaiah Gauer. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Braves ahead, 9-7. For the game, Gauer had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Gauer, "but we got it done."

Mississippi goes to 22-31, Montgomery to 28-25.
