Powered by Abraham Thomason, the Midland RockHounds downed the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels, 8-1. Thomason went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the RockHounds. Aiden Sterling picked up the win in relief. Socrates Palacios took the loss for St. Petersburg. The win boosts the RockHounds to 26-29. The loss puts the Flying Squirrels at 29-26.

Midland used the hitting of K.J. Rice to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 4-0. For the game, Rice had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Thomason told the Midland News.
