Missions Use Late Push to Top Aces
|
San Antonio Missions starter Isaac Gotwalt turned in a top-notch performance against the Alexandria Aces at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The result was a win for the Missions, 5-2. San Antonio reliever Sohichiro Katayama picked up the win. B.J. Hart took the loss for Alexandria. Bobby Schultz wrapped it up, recording his 13th save.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jameson Sierra came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Alexandria pitcher Kent Riggs, he hit a 0-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Antonio on top, 3-2.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Gotwalt.
The 8th-place Missions bumped their record to 23-32.
