Blue Wahoos Stumble Again, Lose, 8-6
|
The San Antonio Missions bested the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, 8-6, at Rebels Ballpark. B.J. Lantz was one of the standouts. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Trey Baker earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 5-0. Damen Page picked up the save for San Antonio, his 12th of the year.
Lantz contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for San Antonio in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 5-4, Lantz took a fastball from Aimar Vargas and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Missions to leap in front, 8-5.
"Losing feels worse," said Pensacola manager Freddy Molina, "than winning feels good."
Even with the win, the Missions have a dismal 19-36 record.
