The Rocket City Trash Pandas knocked off the Midland RockHounds, 4-3, in Southern League action at Security Bank Ballpark. Rocket City pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Gabriel Hernández had an outstanding performance. Ted Hill closed the door for Rocket City, picking up his 7th save of the year. The Trash Pandas move to 25-26 with the win, while the RockHounds drop to 29-22.
Kent Homaa, who is tied for 5th in the SL in doubles with 13, had a direct impact on the outcome. Homaa contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Rocket City up, 1-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Hernández.
