Scouts Tag Aces with 7-6 Loss
|
Led by 23-year-old Jakub Lett, the Chattanooga Scouts downed the Alexandria Aces, 7-6. Lett went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for Chattanooga. Caden Coleman picked up the win in relief. Binky Goins took the loss for Alexandria. Gottfried Lyon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
It could have been a different outcome for Chattanooga, had it not been for Mateo Barrera, the 24-year old catcher . Barrera contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Chattanooga up, 7-5.
"Being in first place now is good," said Barrera. "Being in first at the end of the season is better. That's our goal."
The Scouts upped their record to 32-17.
