In a low-scoring contest, Alexandria pitcher Dylan Gavara was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. In 6.1 innings, Gavara surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Camilo Brito picked up the save, his 1st.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Aces had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when left fielder James Barbot hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Calvin Wood and made the score 2-0, Aces. Barbot went 1-4.
"I thought Dylan threw the ball well across the board," said Alexandria manager Carson Lee.
At 23-28, the Aces are currently 5th in the Southern League Texas Division.
