Engineers Take Tight Tilt, 4-3
|
Amos Phillips impressed in the 4-3 Shreveport win over Alexandria. Phillips was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Shreveport reliever Kevin Bayer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Cameron Maat took the loss. Mason Scott collected his 2nd save.
With two out in the top of the fifth, Christobal Aragon put Shreveport in front, 3-2, with a run-scoring single. The Engineers went on to win the ballgame.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Phillips.
With the win over Alexandria, the Engineers improved to 28-22.
