Bell Powers Hooks to 10-5 Win
|
The Corpus Christi Hooks beat the Montgomery Biscuits, 10-5, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Charles Bell starred for Corpus Christi. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Brayden Faulkner, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. At 24-26, Corpus Christi is in 6th place in the Southern League Texas Division.
Corpus Christi used the clutch hitting of Scott Emmons to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Hooks the lead, 7-5. For the game, Emmons had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Bell.
