Starting pitcher Tomas Saucedo pitched well enough to help the Altoona Curve beat the Erie SeaWolves, 6-5. Collin Gammons picked up the save for Altoona, his 5th of the year. The win takes Altoona to 8-7.
The Curve got a big at-bat from first baseman Rafi Hernandez. For the game, Hernandez was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Altoona a 6-2 lead.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Hernandez said in reaction to the win.
