Arkansas Tacks 7-1 Loss on Tennessee
|
The Arkansas Travelers defeated the Tennessee Smokies, 7-1, at Dickey-Stephens Park. Lonnie Bullins was one of the standouts for Arkansas. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 triples -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Thad Shipman, who is tied for 9th in the SL in quality starts with 5, was the winner. He's now 5-3. The loser was Jacob McRary. Arkansas has now won 3 straight, while the Smokies have lost 3 in a row.
Early in the game, Bullins had a run-scoring triple for Arkansas. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Travelers on top, 1-0.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Arkansas skipper George French.
