Engineers Score Late, Upend Naturals, 2-1
|
Shreveport pitcher Talman Cassidy had a large part in his team subduing the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Bruce Walker, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Troy Prusinowski sewed up the save, his 10th.
Shreveport went up, 2-1, on Esteban Sena's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Sena hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Northwest Arkansas pitcher Rafael Aviles shaking his head.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Northwest Arkansas manager Shaun Brown. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
The win makes Shreveport 27-18.
