Victory Pushes Biscuits Record to 26-19
|
The Montgomery Biscuits got a good effort from starter Jordan Shannon in defeating the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Shannon yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 3-2. Timmy Thompson earned the save for Montgomery.
Jeremy Bowman had a big run-scoring double for the Biscuits in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Montgomery leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Aidan Brown and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 2-0.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Shannon told a Montgomery Bulletin reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
The Biscuits, at 26-19, sit in second place in the Southern League Southeast Division.
