4-0 Win for Alexandria Over San Antonio
|
Larry Burley pitched well, but his team, the San Antonio Missions, still dropped a 4-0 decision to the Alexandria Aces at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Wayne Pomykal, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Albert Herrera got credit for the save for Alexandria. It was his 1st of the year.
Cristián Ortega had a direct impact on the outcome. Ortega contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Alexandria up, 1-0.
Said San Antonio manager Matt Bruno: "When you don't score, it's never a good thing."
Alexandria is now 18-28, San Antonio 13-33.
