RoughRiders Deal Missions 5-1 Defeat
|
The Frisco RoughRiders withstood an impressive performance by San Antonio second baseman Quirino Muniz to defeat the Missions, 5-1, at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Muniz went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The winner was Frisco reliever Victor Ochoa, now 5-0. The loser was Sohichiro Katayama. The win puts Frisco at 28-19 this season.
Frisco took a 5-1 lead on Cody Geddes's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Geddes hit in the top of the eighth, left San Antonio pitcher Jacob Dreyer visibly frustrated.
Geddes called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
