Shuckers Deal Flying Squirrels 5-1 Defeat
Brian Oxendine, who is tied for 9th in the SL in strikeouts with 42, imposed his will on the Flying Squirrels from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 5-1 Biloxi triumph. Oxendine, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Picking up his 6th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jeb Lauridsen.

Stephen Thompson helped out the Biloxi cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.

"Brian is good at sticking to his strengths," said Biloxi manager Dave Donnelly.

Biloxi currently is in 8th place in the Southern League Southeast Division at 19-25.
