Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Gavin Thomas, the Midland RockHounds defeated the Chattanooga Scouts, 12-8. Thomas went 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the RockHounds. The RockHounds raised their record to 17-26.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Thomas hit a 3-run home run off Nicolás Solis. It propelled the RockHounds into the lead, 6-3.

"I was able to square up some pitches," said Thomas.
