Scouts Trip Braves, 5-0
The Chattanooga Scouts downed the Mississippi Braves, 5-0, at AT&T Field. Stellar pitching by Craig Kendall had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner was Kendall. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was John Marquardt. The Scouts raised their record to 18-15.

Nelson Cabral dealt the Braves a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Chattanooga leading 1-0, Cabral, who is tied for 4th in the SL in triples with 2, hit a 2-1 slider for a run-scoring single.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Chattanooga manager Fletcher Goolsby. "That's what Craig is right now."
