Biscuits Get Past Mississippi, 4-3
|
The Montgomery Biscuits topped the Mississippi Braves, 4-3, in Southern League action at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Montgomery pitcher and Brentwood, California, native Scott Smith. Montgomery reliever Sánder Ramires picked up the win to move to 2-0. Zachary Gagnon suffered the loss. At 17-14, the Biscuits are currently second in the Southern League Southeast Division.
Montgomery got a knockout punch from Payton Barrow. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Smith said.
