The Northwest Arkansas Naturals faced a tough opponent in Midland pitcher Freddy McNelis, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Arvest Ballpark by a final score of 5-4. McNelis went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Northwest Arkansas reliever Jim Kennedy picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tristan Ott was saddled with the loss. Northwest Arkansas is in last place in the Southern League Texas Division with a record of 6-25.
Gregorio Paz was the walk-off hero for Northwest Arkansas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Naturals center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Paz said.
