Brady Shines in 5-3 St. Petersburg Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Jayden Brady, the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels knocked off the Tennessee Smokies, 5-3. Brady went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Flying Squirrels. Curtis Lynch locked down his 8th save. St. Petersburg now sits at 15-14, while Tennessee falls to 13-16.
Brady contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for St. Petersburg in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Brady took a slider from Esteban Alaniz and stroked the home run to right. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Flying Squirrels to leap in front, 2-1.
"I felt good up there," said Brady. "I saw the ball well."
