Scouts Upend Hooks, 6-3

The Chattanooga Scouts picked up a win at Whataburger Field, taking down the Corpus Christi Hooks, 6-3. Starting pitcher Jeffrey Hammonds was a big reason why. Chattanooga, at 19-10, holds down first place in the Southern League Southeast Division.
Chattanooga used the timely hitting of Geremy Molinar to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Scouts on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Molinar, "one at-bat at a time."
