Shreveport got a decent performance from pitcher Talman Cassidy, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montgomery Biscuits. Montgomery won the Engineers Ballpark contest, 6-2. Cassidy threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Montgomery pitcher Bill Bongolan got the win. He's now 1-0. Talman Cassidy was tagged with the loss. The win gives Montgomery a record of 18-8.

The Biscuits got a big at-bat from second baseman Simon Bartels. For the game, Bartels was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Montgomery a 3-2 lead.

Montgomery manager Daniel Adkins was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
