Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Midland RockHounds and St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels.

In a low-scoring tilt between the Midland RockHounds and the St. Petersburg Flying Squirrels, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Nathan Monroe was the difference-maker. The Midland right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Monroe, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Kaiden Moon finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Midland used a clutch at-bat from Brady Sanches to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the RockHounds ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Midland manager Ruben Almendarez praised his team's "energy."

St. Petersburg is 15-11 after the defeat.
