The Pensacola Blue Wahoos locked up a win at Rebels Ballpark, knocking off the Mississippi Braves, 2-1. On the mound for Pensacola was right-hander Deroy Polk. He played a major role in the triumph. Polk picked up the win for Pensacola, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. The defeat makes Mississippi 11-15.
With runs few and far between, the Blue Wahoos had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Pensacola came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when 23-year old left fielder Hendrix Cook delivered a run-scoring single.
