Hooks Outdo Aces in Extra Innings
Due in part to designated hitter Marq Cobbs, the Corpus Christi Hooks chopped down the Alexandria Aces, 14-11, in 10 innings. Cobbs was 5-6 with a home run, a triple, and 3 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Corpus Christi pitcher Mark Dilbeck got the win. He's now 2-0. Darien Keith was tagged with the loss. Corpus Christi has now won 4 straight.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Monico Gonzalez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Alexandria pitcher Darien Keith, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Corpus Christi on top, 13-11.

"We've got to get out of this funk," said Alexandria manager Timmy Rodenkirch.
