The home crowd had a good time watching the Mississippi Braves and Alexandria Aces get after it.
In a tight affair between the Alexandria Aces and the Mississippi Braves, pitcher Loyd Middleton was in the zone. The Alexandria left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-0. The winning pitcher was Middleton, now 1-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 0-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Silviano Díaz earned the save, his 7th.
The Aces got a big at-bat from catcher Jordan Allen. For the game, Allen was 1 for 2 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Alexandria a 1-0 lead.
"Loyd made the big pitches when he needed to," said Alexandria manager Gil Mitchell.
