Skidding Shuckers Lose 6th Straight
|
Arkansas left-hander P.J. Radomski helped his team edge Biloxi by the score of 2-1. Radomski kept the opposing lineup in check. Arkansas reliever Jeff Montgomery was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Victor Walker. Doug Schaffer recorded the save, his 1st.
Had J.R. Clegg not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Clegg hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Travelers.
"P.J. was able to execute his pitches," said Arkansas manager Brian Iocco. "Simple as that."
The loss makes the Shuckers 9-14.
