Mississippi Rallies to 7-3 Win
|
The Mississippi Braves knocked off the Midland RockHounds, 7-3, in Southern League action at Security Bank Ballpark. Mississippi pitcher and Southgate, Michigan, native Emmanuel Shipp had an outstanding performance. The RockHounds, now 8-15, continue their slow start.
Mississippi used the timely hitting of Cody Betancourt to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Braves on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Mississippi skipper Sandy Estrada.
